Is there any protection provided for safety?
Yes, the honeycomb work bed is protected by a sturdy frame, an aluminum panel and four corner protectors to prevent any potential danger to hands.
Does it etch granite/ marble?
Yes, but it needs to be Black or a dark color. You can etch lighter surfaces but you need to use the Norton method, you can feel the etching but it will be difficult to see.
